The Kentucky Wildcats shot a miserable 4 of 32 from 3 point range but could have still won the game if they had managed to hit only 8 more free throws. They had plenty of opportunities as they shot a total of 29 free throws but missed 13. That's 13 uncontested shots from 15 feet that were missed. All they needed to do was to make 24 of 29 free throws (83%) and they'd be in the final four.

Just like in Memphis, John Calipari's lack of focus on free throws came back to bite him and Kentucky.
